Why is Gary “The Tribute Man”? While many performers play songs with their own interpretation or style, Gary plays every classic rock song the way they were originally recorded.

Gary grew up in western New York where he began playing music venues by age 16. Early influences included a number of musical artists and Gary developed the ability to learn guitar parts by ear at an early age.

Gary has performed in a variety of venues with notables such as Davey Jones (the Monkees), Herman’s Hermits, Herb Reed of the Platters, Danny and the Juniors, Dion, and others. He has also performed in the Broadway production “Elvis Forever” where he impersonated Ed Sullivan and performed with the “Elvis” backup band.

As a 4 Time Buffalo Backstage Music Award winner, Gary has been recognized for his both his vocals and guitar playing. Gary has also won songwriting awards and has written songs for Sunrise records.

Gary Calvaneso – “The Tribute Man” plays a song selection that is tailored to each venue. At restaurant’s and dinner venues, Gary’s vocal tributes and style veer towards classic soft rock artists such as the Eagles, Simon & Garfunkel, Crosby Stills and Nash & the Beatles. For dance parties, Gary will play uptempo classic rock songs that will get everyone on their feet! Gary’s music adds the missing ingredient to any type of venue.
